Erno Laszlo Sensitive Double Cleanse Travel Set

I’ve been using the Erno Laszlo Sensitive Double Cleanse Travel Set for about a month now, and I have to say, overall, I like it. I really enjoy how the product performs, but I do have a few teensy tiny gripes (which are really small, nothing that would prevent me from purchasing this product again).

(A little info about my skin type: I have combination/dehydrated skin which is really dry along the edges of my face and very oily in my t-zone. I don’t have acne, but my skin is not prefect––I do get the occasional blemish every now and then. This is especially true when I use certain products that don’t agree with my skin type. My skin is also pretty sensitive and a little prone to redness.)

Currently, I’m a very simple skincare type of person. Before using this set, my daily skincare routine consisted of a gentle cleanser, toner and moisturizer. This was my first time using a cleansing oil, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much of a difference it made on my skin. I always get nervous when trying out new face/skin products since my skin is on the sensitive side (some products which are considered gentle give my skin a burning sensation). Luckily, this set gave me no issues! It does a decent job at cleansing without leaving your face feeling tight. If I feel like I need a deeper cleanse, I use a pore cleansing pad/scrublet to massage the oil into my skin. After a couple of uses, my skin was softer and more hydrated. I’ve been using this daily for about a month now, and I’ve noticed that my skin looks brighter and feels softer. It’s more moisturized, and the dry patches on my cheeks have disappeared. It hasn’t really helped much with the oily areas, however. I still notice the same amount of oil after a few hours, but it has definitely helped with the dryness.

The cleansing bar is a little awkward to use at first since you rub the bar directly on your face. It is also a little uncomfortable since the bar is flat and rectangular and doesn’t conform to the curves of your face. After a few uses, it does round out a little, making it a tiny bit easier to use.

This set is marketed as fragrance free, but it does have a subtle scent to it. It’s not a clean fresh scent, it’s actually a little strange, but it doesn’t bother me too much. I do wish the cleansing oil had a better way to dispense the product, like a pump or a different type of cap. It’s a little hard to pour the oil into your hands, and I always end up struggling to put the cap back on the container with one hand while trying to keep the oil in my other hand.

Since this is labeled as a “Travel Set” I’ve taken it with me on about 3 trips so far. As a travel set, it’s a little bulky. While I do think the container that houses the oil and the bar of soap are cute and very handy at home (especially the side with the holes that holds the cleansing bar), it can be a little bulky when used for travel. It takes up a decent amount of space in your luggage or overnight bag, and can sometimes be cumbersome if you only have a pedestal sink to use.

All in all, I’m definitely a fan of this product and will most likely be purchasing it after I run out!
